The Carthage College men's volleyball team (1-1), ranked ninth in the pre-season American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept D'Youville College (2-1), 3-0, on Friday, Jan. 15 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. The Red Men's winning set scores over the Spartans were 30-24, 30-21 and 31-29. 

Carthage's Randy Hansen (So., Oak Lawn Ill.) had a match-high 17 kills and hit .265 with three block solos, while Tom O'Connell (Jr., Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) had 12 kills with a .688 attack percentage. Jeremy Sajdak topped D'Youville with 13 kills. Carthage plays host to NCAA Division I Ball State University (0-1) on Saturday, Jan. 16 in a 7 p.m. match, also at Tarble Arena.
