The Carthage College women's tennis team (4-1, 3-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated Concordia University (Wis., 2-1), 7-2, on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the North Shore Country Club in Mequon, Wis. For Carthage coach Brady Lindsley, the win was number 200 in his 13-year coaching career (200-76, 13 years). 

Carthage's Gina Klein (Sr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South, 4-1) lost her first number-one singles match of the season on Sept. 8, falling to Erin Heinrich from Concordia University (Wis.), 7-5, 6-1. Hollis McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 4-1) was a winner at number-two singles over the Falcons, as was Beth Kaufman (Sr., Barrington, Ill., 1-0) at number-three singles, Kristina Naidicz (So., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper/UW-Oshkosh, 3-0) at number-four singles, Ashley Morgan (Sr., Afton, Minn./Stillwater Area, 4-1) at number-five singles and Amanda Bizub (So. Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 3-2) at number-six singles. 

The Lady Reds' number-one doubles team of Klein and McPeek (4-1) lost to Concordia (Wis.), but the of Kaufman and Naidicz (3-0) was a winner, as was the number-three tandem of Morgan and Bizub (3-1). On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Lady Reds travel to Wheaton, Ill., for a double-dual match at Wheaton College (Ill.). Carthage plays CCIW-opponent and the host-Thunder at 10 a.m. and Judson University (Ill.) at 1 p.m.
