Carthage finished fourth at the Tuesday, Sept. 22 Elmhurst College “Bluejay Classic” at the Oak Brook Country Club in Oak Brook, Ill. Lewis University won the 10-team event with a 326 team score, seven strokes ahead of second-place Wheaton College (Ill.) at 333. The University of St. Francis (Ill.) was third at 336, followed by Carthage fourth at 351, North Central College fifth at 356, Elmhurst sixth at 368, Robert Morris University (Ill.) seventh at 375, the Carthage junior varsity team eighth at 391, the Elmhurst junior varsity team ninth at 394 and Benedictine University (Ill.) 10th with a 401 mark.
Lewis University's Liz Zimmer and Allison Snyder tied for medalist honors with 81s. Carthage's Taylor McAdams (Fr., Sycamore, Ill., 89.4 season average) tied for 12th place with an 85, Amy Binstein (Jr., Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) tied for 19th at 88, Katie Ramirez (Jr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South) tied for 21st 89, Tabby Bell (Fr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) tied for 21st at 89, Julie Klawitter (Fr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) finished 27th at 91, and Heidi Hoffman (Jr., Appleton, Wis./North) tied for 36th place with a 94. For the Carthage junior varsity squad, Heidi Chronowski (Fr., Monticello, Iowa) shot a 94, Michelle Braun (So., Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) a 94, Jenna Apple (Fr., Bloomington, Ill.) a 99, Tara Davies (Fr., Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) a 104, Kiki Buege (Fr. Hudson, Wis.) a 108, and Cristal Tucker (So., Oak Forest, Ill.) finished with a 111.
