The Carthage College women's golf team (41-36-1) played host to the Carthage Invitational on Monday, Sept. 28 at Bristol Oaks Country Club in Bristol, Wis. Wisconsin-Whitewater won the five-team event with a 347 team score, three strokes ahead of second-place Carthage at 350. Wheaton College (Ill.) was third at 351, followed by the Carthage junior varsity team fourth at 369 and Elmhurst College fifth with a 396 mark.
Carthage's Heidi Hoffman (Jr., Appleton, Wis./North, 91.4 season average) took medalist honors with an 82, while Brittany Bronson from Wheaton College (Ill.) was second with an 83. Carthage's Amy Binstein (Jr., Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South, team-leading 86.9 average) shot an 86, Katie Ramirez (Jr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 89.1) an 88, Tabby Bell (Fr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic, 89.8) a 94, and Taylor McAdams (Fr., Sycamore, Ill., 90.3) finished with a 95. Also for the Lady Reds, Brooke Mix (So., Westfield, Ind., 93.1) shot an 86, Michelle Braun (So., Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West, 92.0) an 88, Aubrie Morano (So., North Prairie, Wis./Wales-Kettle Moraine, 92.7) an 89, Julie Klawitter (Fr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey, 93.8) a 97, Becky Volkman (Sr., Lake Villa, Ill./Antioch, 96.0) a 97, Heidi Chronowski (Fr., Monticello, Iowa, 96.5) a 97, Ashley Woller (So., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 96.5) a 98, Kiki Buege (Fr., Hudson, Wis., 102.0) a 101, Jenna Apple (Fr., Bloomington, Ill., 99.0) a 102, Joanna Young (Fr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 100.7) a 103, Tara Davies (Fr., Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township, 103.0) a 107, Cristal Tucker (So., Oak Forest, Ill., 107.0) a 110, and Izzy Pavlik (Fr., Plainfield, Ill./Joliet-Catholic Academy, 114.0) finished with a 118.
