Carthage's Michelle Pelka Named CCIW "Women's Swimmer of the Week"

Carthage College's Michelle Pelka (Jr., Elgin, Ill./Elgin Academy) was named CCIW “Women's Swimmer of the Week” on Dec. 8. Pelka had a personal in-season best and NCAA B cut time of 4:36.66 in the 400-yard individual medley at the Dec. 4-5 “TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic.” Pelka was also a winner in three other events including the 100-yard butterfly (59.97), the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.26), and the 200-yard IM (2:12.83).
