The Carthage College men's swimming team (2-2 dual-meet record) finished first at the Friday-Saturday, Dec. 4-5 TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.  The Red Men won the four-team event with 2,295 points, followed by St. Olaf College second at 1,579, Lake Forest College third at 980 and Ripon College fourth with 301 points.  

Carthage's Kyle Drake (Jr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won the 100 backstroke (54.36), while collecting second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley (1:59.84), the 200 backstroke (1:56.33) and the 400 individual medley (4:16.14).  The Red Men also picked up wins from Ryan Ortmann (So., Woodstock, Ill.) in the 50 freestyle (22.07), Nathan Ripley (Sr., Middleton, Wis.) in the 100 freestyle (48.07), Doug Schranck (So., Alton, Ill./Marquette Catholic) in the 100 butterfly (52.75) and Alex Van Huis in the 1,650 freestyle (16:34.38).  Mike Moravek (So., Rolling Meadows, Ill./Palatine-Fremd) finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.61).
