The Carthage College women's swimming team (2-1 dual-meet record) defeated St. Mary's College (Ind.), 139.5 to 69.5, on Friday Nov. 13 at Purdue University's Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind. Amanda Croix (Jr., Bradley, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) won both the in the 200 freestyle (1:57.57) and the 500 freestyle (5:17.44), while Michelle Pelka (Jr., Elgin, Ill./Elgin Academy) took first place in both the 100 butterfly (59.55) and the 200 individual medley (2:17.23). The Lady Reds also picked up wins from Alyssa Messina (Sr., Medinah, Ill./Roselle-Lake Park) in the 50 freestyle (25.65), Sammy Jo Mahler (Jr., Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) in the 100 freestyle (57.43) and Jensena Paul (So., Portage, Wis.) in the 100 backstroke (1:04.71). On Saturday, Nov. 14, the Lady Reds play host to Illinois Wesleyan University in a 1p.m. dual-meet at Carthage's Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
