The Carthage College women's soccer team (6-10, 0-6 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated Finlandia University (1-14), 8-0, on Saturday, Oct. 24 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn. Carthage led, 5-0, at halftime behind goals by Rachel Jason (Fr., Deerfield, Ill.), Shannon Chesna (Sr., Fond du Lac, Wis.), Jen Petrosky (So., Hanover Park, Ill./Carol Stream-Glenbard North), Karen Schwoebel (Jr., Wheeling, Ill.) and Jen Carlson (Jr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard South). The Lady Reds tacked on three goals in the second period, with Chesna scoring a second goal, and Hannah Sopeth (So., Lakeville, Minn./North) scoring twice. On Sunday, Oct. 24, the Lady Reds take on the College of St. Benedict (9-5-1) in a 3 p.m. contest at St. John's University's (Minn.) Durenberger Field in Collegeville, Minn.
