Carthage Women's Basketball Opens Nov. 17 at Monmouth

The Carthage College women's basketball team (0-0, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) opens its 2009-10 season on Nov. 17 with a 7 p.m. game against Monmouth College at Glennie Gymnasium in Monmouth, Ill.

Monmouth College, located in Monmouth, Ill., is a member of the Midwest Conference. Melissa Jones (48-44, 4 years) coaches the Fighting Scots, who went 14-9 last year (9-7, 4th tie MWC). Carthage leads the Monmouth series, which dates to 1998, 3-1. The two teams last played on Nov. 20, 2004, with the Lady Reds winning a 74-46 game at the Carthage Physical Education Center.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, the Lady Reds play host to Beloit College in a 2 p.m. game at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.
